Sea Candle, Enoshima (Japan)

The Sea Candle is a lighthouse observation tower built for the 100th anniversary celebration of the Enoshima Electric Railway. This private lighthouse is one of the largest beacons in Japan, and many antennas for mobile phones are installed on its distinctive inverted cone-shaped structure. You can go up the tower by taking outdoor escalators called "esuka" or use the circular stairs as they provide a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji, the Izu Peninsula, the mountains at Hakone and Tanzawa, the Oshima Island, the Miura Peninsula, and the Yokohama Landmark Tower. The top of the observation tower is 119.6 meters above sea level and offers a great 360-degree panoramic view.
